Meet the RREF Team

The Reading Real Estate Foundation team has grown in the past year to include new members of staff from diverse sectors bringing a wealth of experience to our activities. RREF is embedded within the Henley Business School under the leadership of Nicole Gillham, Director of Alumni Relations & Development and Executive Director of RREF.

Nicole Gillham, Director of Alumni Relations & Development - Henley Business School

Nicole has held the role of Executive Director of RREF since 2008 and in December 2012, she also accepted the position of Director of Alumni Relations & Development for Henley Business School. Nicole holds the overall direction and responsibility for the team and works strategically across the Business School, University and alumni & corporate community.

Alumni Relations and Events

Lucy Burns, Senior Alumni Relations and Events Manager
Lucy leads the RREF alumni relations and events team and works closely with the RREF Events Committee on strategic planning and delivery of the events programme, including securing events sponsorship. She is also responsible for the strategic planning and facilitation of communications to the School of Real Estate and Planning alumni and industry contacts.

Kat Berry, Alumni Relations Assistant
Many RREF alumni know Kat from the events she has helped to organise. She is responsible for helping to plan and deliver RREF events and communications, including social media, marketing, and newsletters. She also updates alumni information on our database and can assist with queries on year groups and alumni contact.

Development and Projects

Jane Symmons, Senior Development and Projects Manager
Jane is responsible for leading and developing fundraising and stewardship within the RREF. She works with Nicole to shape the development programme and manage donor relationships. Along with her team of Katie, Rachel and Helen, Jane manages the strategy and delivery of student related activities delivered by RREF for the Real Estate and Planning students (such as mentoring and bursaries), the Pathways to Property initiative and the RREF Annual Fund.


Helen Longworth, Development Manager

Helen is responsible for managing the RREF Annual Fund, encouraging alumni to support areas of strategic importance with regular donations. She also assists Jane in stewarding RREF donors, works with the University Campaigns office to ensure that data held on the database is accurate and serves as Secretary to the RREF Development Committee.


Rachel Lad, Project Officer - Pathways to Property
Rachel is responsible for managing the Pathways to Property initiative which raises awareness of study and career opportunities in real estate to A-level students with the aim of widening diversity within the industry. Rachel co-ordinates a programme of activities for students, teachers and parents in UK state schools including a Summer School, taster days and career talks. Rachel liaises with the School of Real Estate & Planning, alumni and the Project Board to develop and deliver activities.


Katie Dunbar, Student Support and Employability Officer
Katie is the main RREF contact for students enrolled in the Real Estate and Planning programmes. She manages and delivers bursaries, prizes and scholarship awards by RREF, the Access Internship summer scheme, the student mentoring programme, the annual REP Careers Fair and other student related activities run by RREF.
