Rankings confirm excellent year for Henley Business School

MBA and Research Excellence Framework Rankings confirm Henley’s strengths.

In 2014 the Henley Business School further cemented its position as a world class business school for learning and research excellence.

The Research Excellence Framework results, the measure by which the impact of a school's research is assessed, confirmed the Henley Business School's 70 year history as a research and policy focused business school with strong rankings across all its measures of assessment.

The Real Estate and Planning school's area of assessment was particularly strong, ranking 6th out of 45 schools in the UK with research in this area ranking 3rd for the significance and the reach of its impact on the industry. As the late Professor Byrne emphasised, the REF results “confirm the consistent excellence of our research activity…. to the great credit of the academic staff in Real Estate & Planning who have pursued their research with dedication, rigour and enthusiasm throughout the review period.” The Economist and Financial Times' rankings further confirmed the excellence of the teaching and standard of the Henley Business School's MBA programmes placing the school in the Top 40 business schools in the world and highlighting the employability of Henley graduates.

The strength, diversity and importance of the Henley Business School's alumni network was highly commended in the rankings. With over 66,000 alumni in 157 countries, it offers unparalleled networking opportunities to ensure the continuing personal and professional development of Henley students once they have graduated.

The involvement and participation of alumni is incredibly important for RREF to ensure that we are able to offer a diverse range of opportunities for current students to learn and network, this can be through alumni participating in the RREF Mentoring Programme, speaking at the Evening Lecture series, sitting on a committee or acting as Year Rep to liaise and engage your peers.

An alumnus volunteering their time and involvement is crucial in helping RREF to organise relevant events through the sharing of industry knowledge and expertise but also importantly for our graduates to further their learning at events such as the Breakfast Forum or networking at social occasions like the Annual Dinner.

Most importantly it offers the opportunity for continued engagement with your university.

If you would be interested in learning more about alumni involvement with RREF please contact alumni@rref.reading.ac.uk for further information on how to get involved.
