Alumni & Supporter Finalists for 2016 Property Awards

Prop Awards 2016Discover our successful alumni and supporters of RREF who have been nominated as finalists in the 2016 Property Awards.

Looking towards the upcoming 2016 Property Awards that will be taking place on the 19 April 2016 the Reading Real Estate Foundation were delighted to notice amongst the shortlisted finalists a number of alumni, corporate supporters and businesses of alumni nominated in a number of categories.

Amongst the other finalists for the Young Property Personality of the Year were three alumni of the School of Real Estate and Planning;

  • Harry Pickering, Schroders Investment Management - MSc 2010
  • Luke Appleby, KONTOR - MSc 2010 - nominated alongside co-founder James Townsend
  • Richard Jackson, Apache Capital Partners - BSc 2001

Luke Appleby (MSc 2010) of KONTOR is also nominated for Property Entrepreneur of the Year alongside his co-founder James Townsend.

In the category of Property Newcomer of the Year were represented businesses founded or co-founded by alumni;

  • Apache Capital Partners, co-founded by two Reading alumni; Richard Jackson and John Dunkerley (BSc 1990).
  • Westmount Real Estate whose business and management team is compomised of three Reading alumni; Simon Farnsworth (BSc 1989), Ian Harris (BSc 1989) and Simon Smith (BSc 1988).
  • Point 2 Surveyors, which alumnus Liam Dunford (MSc 2009) co-founded along with five others.

While new property company U+I, which is owned and managed by alumni Matthew Weiner (BSc 1993) and Richard Upton (BSc 1988)  as well as Marcus Shepherd has been nominated for a Placemaking Award.

It is also a great pleasure to see that our corporate patrons BNP Paribas Real Estate, CBRE, Collliers International, Cushman & Wakefield LLP, Hammerson, JLL, Knight Frank, Savills UK Ltd and SEGRO have all been nominated in a variety of awards.
